Default Newbie--How To Run mid/low 12's

Just picked up an 01 LS1 Z28. Its bone stock. My buddy suggestted the following changes to get it in the mid 12's, I want some opinions as I have never owned a new style smallblock.
1) Cat back System
2) Under Drive Pulley
3) Air lid, K&N, and aluminum air box
4) Corvette Servo
5) 160 thermostat & Manual on/off switch
6) SLP Y pipe

His car was running 12.3's with all the same and a 2800 yank converter. I wanted to get comfortably in the 12's without the converter, possible?

I did 12s with a lid, header, and exhaust only on a M6.

I did 12.9s with Lid, LTs, ORY, Catback on 19" street tires. 12.7s with the same mods and drag radials, 12.1 with the same mods and a converter.

Stock form an M6 can get in the 12's. A4 will need a converter or gears & a tune.
