Can i make it???? I am hoping that i will break 12's this week if i can make it to the track. I have a 98 camaro. My set up is slp headers with slp catted y pipe with a borla cat back. The headers are not the slp tuned header. I have the slp lid and spohn lower control arms and pan hard bar. I also have a umi k member not like its going to make that much of a differance. My tires are brand new bf goodrich gforce super sports. If i heat the tires up enough and get traction i'm hoping to be in the twelves. My gears are 3.23's too. I know heating up new tires but life goes on! Sorry if threads have been posted like this before and i'm creating another one but idk if i should give up hopes for twelves without a converter and tune.
I think you'll get it. Those tires are regular street radials, correct? If so, I wouldn't try heating them up too much. When I used to run on street tires and did a nasty burnout they'd get slipperier. A simple quick burnout to clean them off nice should be more than sufficient.
Since you're in NJ, close to sea level, I say go on a day with good racing weather and it shouldn't be a problem. Good luck.
