See, to me I'd rather have a Watts link.. What do true duals get you in day to day use? The look from the back is the same. Fitment is tougher period because of the two pipes where one was meant to run, there is more weight too.

Unless you are making some stupid amount of power it's pretty clear to me you'll get more day to day benefit from the Watts link. And yes, you can tell the difference immediately only those who don't have one say it's not any different. Those that do will tell you often they can feel the difference leaving the driveway on that first drive.

 

Why don't you get a custom 2.5" setup? I doubt with bolt-ons you'd need the flow of 3" TD's (actually, I'm quite sure you don't), plus that Kooks setup is pretty expensive IMO. I think dual 2.5"s would fit a lot easier.

Still, as mentioned, a nice Y-pipe setup with a good catback will sound good, fit easier, flow well, AND weigh less, which seems to be important to you from previous threads.

 

Wow, I just seen that Kooks made a bolt on TD system. While I am sure it is great and sexy and all but damn $1,900.... I'll stick with my custom exhaust.

$1500+ for an exhaust and you're wondering if an extra $100 for an adjustable swaybar is worthwhile???????

 

No orders are being placed -- all vetting and researching options at this point. It's good to do due diligence. ;-)

 

Yea I've got about $550 into mine. And that's three inch oval tubing.

 

Add in Kooks headers and you're looking upwards of $2300....still pretty damn expensive if you ask me. Even with cats, a well built Y-pipe setup is at least $400-500 less, as well as a custom built TD setup.

 

Wow, I just found this thread on the Kooks true duals with a Fays2 Watts Link. I am salivating over the true dual option, but not for $1500, "Ouch!"

Just FYI: If anyone has put on a Fays2 Watts Link with a MOSER 12 bolt and a T/A girdle and your bolts are sitting to close for full adjustment, I have your solution I called Jim @ Fays2 about 3 months past and explained my dilemma with the factory FAYs2 nuts and bolts on the propeller. Simply put, I could not use my full range of adjustment on the 7 positions of the WATTS. Jim then explained to me that he had a set of 3 shaved bolts for the propeller assembly that should solve my problem; although, it is rare for this problem to exist. He went on to apologize for the inconvenience. Well, fast forward. I just finished changing out the bolts and it completely solved my last little problem. Everything fits like a glove, and I have the full range of adjustment. So, if anyone has a similar problem just order the shaved bolt kit from Jim @ Fays and your problems should be solved.
