what did it gain at the track?

 

upgrading to 1 7/8's myself, but i'm also upgrading everything under the sun minus the short block. can't wait to see what she makes.

 

I did mine because I KNEW I was going to heads/cam on the car soon. That way I only bought them once. There is always a better/cheaper/quicker/smarter way to do anything when it comes to modding a car, but I think what the OP here is saying is that if you plan ahead with parts choices it can pay off. You know..."plan your work, work your plan" kind of thing.

I got almost the exact same results when I went from a set of 6 year old Hooker 1 3/4's with their y-pipe.....to a set of 1 7/8's ARH with their y-pipe. WOW! what a differnce I can feel under the curve too. Just runs out so much smoother from a dead stop, and cruising part throttle. I love the ARH headers I went with, eventhough I had some unusual fitment issues that no one else says they had.

 

Sorry for the delay guys. We are making a small change to them but I think you'll like it! We are doing everything we can to get the stainless 1 7/8" headers and y-pipes back in as quickly as we can!

Think there would be any gains going to 2"? On a 370 with ls3 topend, plus a 100+ n2o.

In case you all missed it, which it looks like you did. He said STAINLESS. So now they will be STAINLESS.

 

Interesting thread. I've been fighting with this for a year now! H/C/I + N2O car and I'm still running the Hooker 1 3/4" headers with their ORY. I imagine there's power left on the table, just trying to decide if it's worth the price of admission!

Nice. I really wish I knew about these when I put Pacesetters on my car 2 years ago.. Were they even out in Spring of 09? I think I will be upgrading to these sometime this summer/fall after some ported 243s and a different custom cam.

 

Ahh, sneaky sneaky! Are you still going to offer the ceramic coated? What will the Stainless Headers cost?

 

They are going to be polished so I don't think we are going to coat them afterward. I can't make any promises on the pricing just yet but we are hoping to remain at the same price!

These headers seem to be nice, too bad they're not SS. I have Grotyohann's 1.75" headers from 1999 and they're pretty rusted . I want to replaced them but I don't want ones that'll need replaced again either. Do you think a re-tune would be needed to go from 1 3/4" headers to 1 7/8" headers, both with no converters?

 

Are there any fitment issues with the larger tubes?

 

If you can keep the pricing close and make them in SS they'll sell like hot cakes.
