i seem to remember another graph from a guy who made the switch with a similar exhaust setup and he gained 6 rwhp on a cam or h/c car. Do you guys really think if there was 20rwhp on the table from going to 1 3/4" to 1 7/8" this is the first everyone if finding out about it? I sure dont, i do agree they should make more power though.

I'd be willing to bet the 2/3 of your new HP is in the Improved Y-pipe & not the headers. Not saying the 1 7/8 headers didn't give you anything but unless you're planning on going bigger CI or Blower route you may have saved money by just buying a better Y. IMHO

I'm not trying to take anything away from the obviously quality pieces that come out of the higher name brands, but face it, not everyone wants to drop that kind of cash right off the bat. Congrats to your gains, but imo, basic setups will do just fine without the 1 7/8's lt's for at least double the price of the pacesetters.

I whent from hedman 1 5/8 stepped to 1 3/4 to hooker 1 7/8 but also added a larger stall(TCI 3500 stall to circle d 4200) which i hear a stall or larger one will rob "dyno" numbers..well i gained aprox 10rwhp..
I do have the hooker Y pipe though and just dropped off my car to put in a 4in flowmaster merge and 4in dynomax bullit,so ill see if he can redyno

to be honest dont think it was even 10rwhp but i did add a larger stall which may have robbed a few,but looking at dif pics here of hookers ory I'd say it very constricting soo decided to add the merge

I can see a small gain from primary size and a nice gain from a better collector design and merge.
this is **** for power
Patrick Gs y pipe on his TA you know it made power.

Before everyone runs out and spends cash my boy went from 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 and his gain was very little mid and up top. lost little down low but over all he gained like 5hp. He was not happy with the money spent and he went from a kook header to a kook header. I told him of how pat g did his y pipe and i'm sure he'll try that.
