Default Z06 Clutch Kit p/n?

I need to order a new clutch for my 2000 Trans Am and I want the Z06 clutch kit. Doing a search, I found part number 12581650. When I enter this into GMpartsdirect.com, it comes up as Engine Flywheel.

Can someone please verify that I do indeed have the correct part number to order the Z06 clutch kit (clutch disc, pressure plate, and flywheel). I appreciate any help. Thank you.

That's what is going to come up in the description if I remember right. Do a search in the manual trans section under my screen name. I've answered this question many times, but I dont know the number off the top of my head right now.

why not go on ebay. people have the whole Z06 kit on there like the one you are talking about for 325 buy it now and like 40 bucks shipping. so for 365 you could have it at your door. would be better than 450 from any of the other places i've found it. just a thought.

when you go to SDPC.com and put in the frist number all it says is

Part Number Matches
Part Name Part # Price
1. FLYWHEEL 12581650 $377.88 Add to Order

but the other one give a descripsioin and says LS1 clutch flywheel and pp. so i would go with this number. i don't know what the other one is but i think this is the kit you should get. \/

12581650

That's the part number I used from the Chevrolet dealership. I got everything I needed (flywheel, pressure plate, clutch disc)

15046288

That's the part number for the upgraded slave with throw out bearing.

well what is the part number 12570806 that GTO_Newbie posted then? on the SDPC.com site it says the number that he has is for upgrading the ls1 clutch to the Z06 one.

Who knows. GM changes part numbers all the time. As long as you get the right thing, it won't matter (it'll probably just reference to the newer number anyway). Just order whatever you feel more comfortable with, but I know the number I used worked.

Just FYI,

12581650 is a stock replacement LS1 clutch kit (flywheel, clutch & pressure plate)

12570806 is a stock replacement LS6 clutch kit (flywheel, clutch & pressure plate).

If you got the 1650 clutch, its NOT the Z06 version.

Interesting. When I ordered what I thought was the LS6 kit, the description said HD replacment. Oh well. I did a little research and found that 12570806 is the right number for the Z06 setup. Oh well, the LS1 kit I have in now is holding up for now.
