I dont want, nor mean to steal this thread, but I purchased Stage II Darts (which I was told was a 62cc) along with the G5X3 cam. And well, I was told to use .030" (to get 11.1 CR) gasket and flycut. But, if he can use unmilled Darts with that cam and stock gaskets to get 11.1 (which is where I would like to be) then shouldnt I just get stock gaskets as well? From my numbers, I get 11.65.1. CR.. WTF

No notching here just bolted them on. Now the F15 cam has around .599 lift on each side. I think the Gx3 has around .610 or more which could be the difference and with a thinner gasket it would be close.

Just a FYI on this. I received my Dart 205's today and the stock GM 5.7L MLS gasket fits the chamber size exactly. I recall seeing that the chamber was larger on an earlier post. Perhaps dart has fixed this. These heads were shipped 24th March from summit after being on back order, so are probably part of the latest batch.
Finish is good, some casting flash here and there, nothing major.
I think Ill just bung them on and see what happens. Looks like around 11:1 on standard engine.

I am just curious, can you measure the chamber width? Mine came out at around 3.96", slightly large than the stock bore. I just went with the 6.0 GM MLS gaskets as the stock was slightly smaller than the chamber if I remember correctly. Patriot distributes this gasket with their heads as well.

When are you installing? With luck, mine will be on this weekend and I should have pushrods by middle of next week. And the weather is getting better after tomorrow as well.

The 205's actually measure 64-64.5cc and the 225's measure 63.5cc. The chambers are just a tad smaller then the gasket.

Lift has little to do with it, its duration and valve events that matter. But my guess would be you would have to notch the pistons on a x3 with thinner gaskets.

Interesting the box says 62cc. If they are 64cc then thats fine. As for chamber width they are just under 4" so likely to be the same size as before then. I must admit I wasnt looking with a micrometer, just lined up the gasket on the head and it felt to the touch bang on.
Mine wont be on till later in the month.

No but, there is no reason to use a larger than stock bore head gasket in this with the Dart heads.

The reason that I did was the Darts I have measured 3.96 on the chamber, the stock 5.7 gaskets measure 3.93 so I would have gasket hanging into the chamber. Now the gaskets are back from the bore taper at the top. Not sure which situation is better.

Sigforty - How's your doing? Any new et's? I spoke to Terry at Futral yesterday and your car came up in conversation - that promted me to ask you.

Vettenuts - Is your stuff together yet? I am feeling challenged as the king of procrastination. LOL

No new times yet!! I am waiting to get some time to hit the track. As far as driving everyday the car is getting alot better gas mileage on interstate. I was doing 29 to 30 while travelling at 75 mph.

The Dart's are looking better and better as the days go on. I've seen pretty much only good thinkgs about them and for the price they can't be beaten as far as I know.
