Default which ram air is better?

austin ram air - http://www.lmperformance.com/1858/1.html

slp - http://www.lmperformance.com/741/1.html

or the whisper - http://www.lmperformance.com/2100/1.html

they ALL seem to be a little different,.. which one would i see the best gains with?

Also, how dangerous would it be to drive with the austin one in the rain? I frequently drive my car in the rain, and dont want water getting into my intake

Free Ram Air for me. Did it when I first bought the car in '00. Not one problem either in Wa or here in Wy.

Have you considered the fasttoys ram air? its cheaper than the austin ram air and around the same price as the whisper. ive read alot of good things on here with people who have it and some people around my area that have it as well. also ive read articles that prove it works. its enough to convince me to get it when i get the funds. just thought i might throw another choice out there.

i'll be buying the fasttoys ram air likely within the next month along with a cutout altogether $230 shipped from thunder. sounds like a deal to me (stainless steel cutout).

check out installuniversity.com

they have done independant testing on the fasttoys system and have proven 1/4 mile gains, fuel mpg gains and hp gains. they sold me! at $3.25 a gallon here, it'll pay for itself, shoot.

that's because it's not a real ram air, just a cold air intake

fasttoys.net does sell an extention to the SLP cold air intake kit that turns it into a true ram air system though.

Default My vote goes to the Austin

I installed it on my TA and man its one hell of a mod for top end pulling. It's made of the thermo plastic so it won't absorb heat like the stainless steel set ups. Easy to install and Al gives great customer support. Cold air during cruising and ram air at high speeds. Ask a few of the guys on camaroz28.com, they'll testify. A few of them have tried several set ups.

That does sound like more bang for your buck, I might end up going with the austin...

Don't get me wrong the FRA mod does works and is required with th installation of all the Ram Air kits. However the air is more turbulent when done alone. The kits give you a straight, direct flow of air to your intake box. trust me if you do the FRA wit and without the kit you will see a difference...I DID!

I ordered the whisper. It should be here today. If you want to save $10.00 Tbyrnemotorsports.com sells the whisper for $139.99. I think the SSRA would prob work the best but I was trying to be cheap..
