my buddy who i gave my ls1 too hes using a carbed setup on it in his 83 camaro, all thats needed so far that i know of is intake and carb and then the msd system which plugs into the coils, plugs into knock sensors and such on the motor. and itll give you a good amount of power because theres no air restrictions and as long as you have the right carb of course it can be streetable.

My question is Why?

Fuel injection is better in everyway except for cost and simplicity.

Carburetor's have advantages over fuel injection systems. and fuel injection has advantages over carbs. You can't say injection is better in every way. I say if you know how to tune a carb its a much better way to go since you can make precise adjustments with a screwdriver and the pop of the hood.

I would tend to agree. That is one of the major pros of carb motors...if you know what you're doing you're definitely going to save some time and money in the long run.

Fuel injection isn't necessarily better in EVERY way. It's just more accurate.
