Default Co2 Mod

I have researched on google and cant find anything. Has anyone ever heard of haveing a line going to a ball that is suspended in the middle of the intake line. With the ball being hollow, shooting Co2 into this ball and freezing it. Thus lowering the temperature of the intake air. Has anyone ever heard of this idea? Thanks

Seems like adding anything inside the intake tube will act as a restrictor.
I understand the logic but I believe nitrous would be preferred over the method noted above.

Is this on a boosted car? wouldn't you have to vent this ball the maintian a lower preusre than the bottle presure? Have you seen the kits that 'Spray' C02 onto the intercoolers?

Really though i think meth injection (on boosted apps) is a better bet to start with. VERY wuidely used to help with intake temps. N2O can be used to bust it has its own problems.

Might also want to try spraying your intercooler with a water/meth solution for added cooling effect..

Cheers

Chris.

I think DEI makes a kit for this, I was looking at it a few days ago

Yea, i understand water meth and other methods would be better. But this setup would have a cool factor lol, maybe instead of a ball it could be a smooth thin ring around the outside of the line. Make it like a sleeve and as long as you can so it can do the most cooling possible.

Good idea but you have to remember that you are trying to convect heat from the intake charge to a sleeve or ball that has little surface area (if a ball) or a sleeve that may have a high thermal resistance (conduction path to the outside of the sleeve). Meth/Water and nitrous make sense because they are mixed with the intake charge and thereby lower it. Sounds like a good idea, especially since the CO2 will be stored as a liquid thereby increasing the amount you could keep in a reasonable bottle inside the car, but not sure how much of a cooling affect you will get.

if your not boosted then it will not help you alot. you IAT sensor is b4 the tube.
Try meth injection. have it turn on and off with EGT controler
