I apologise if this is not in the right forum..but i am in iraq and am trying to help the iraqi police try to figure out why their 2006 3500 series silverado quadcab will not start... i checked all the fuses against another 3500 series truck that they had and made sure that all the fuses were in the right spot and were not blown..even after swapping fuses from the one truck that did run and start to ensure that all of the fuses were still good..then determined that the fuel pump was crap.. they replaced the stock fuel pump with one from a french peugot...no i am not joking..seriously it works when hooked up to the battery..however when plugged into the fuel tank harness it will not work..i dont have a OBD2 scanner and the check engine light does come on and stay on..they seem to think that it has something to do with a security lockout in the ecm...but damned if i know..again i dont have an OBD2 scanner to read the PCM..and am not going to flip $700 for *their* technition to come out with his scanner to trouble shoot the damn truck..
I was hoping that maby somebody on this board could help me try to diagnose the issue..or what mainly goes wrong with the engine/ or harness on these trucks..it has the 6.0L Vortech casting #'s on the heads are 317..the truck is BONE STOCK..well accept for the peugot fuel pump..
I would love to know how many volts are suppossed to come out of the fuel pump harness going to the fuel pump and which pin to check..again i dont have manuals or any information readily available on this vehicle other than what help i can get here...or the few LSX magasines i have..
Appreciate any help i can get here on this...and if this is in the wrong forum PLEASE MOVE..but PM ME SO I CAN FIND IT!!! thanks
