Default Driving force between motor plates?

Im trying to figure out what the driving force is for some guys to use split motor plates (wings) Vs one piece plates? Anyone know the answer? Is it really that much better to have a one piece?

I have a one piece on my car, but it's only about a 3/4 inch piece connecting the 2 halves together in the center.

Sure, a 1 piece will be stronger, but with the ls it's alot harder to do then with say a bbc, because of the intake positioning, deck height, etc.

In the end I don't think it's a deal breaker either way.

If your running a factory style intake, its going to be pretty much impossible to have any sort of meat above the timing cover for a 1 piece. If running a cast spider style intake then youll have all the room you want. 1 piece is a better route to go for sure, but the 2 piece will still work? how fast you plan on running?

Its actually going on a lowly turbo LT1 and itll never be fast but it will make between 700-800hp... With that said it really doesnt matter what motor it is the physics are that same. Im just looking at all the options right now since motor mount arent (damn down pipe!)
