Max redline on 3.662" stroke Eagle crank w/forged rods
Does anyone happen to know the maximum RPM limit when running the OEM stroke with either the Eagle forged crank and rods or any other forged crank and rods?
The piston speed at 7,000 rpms is at 4,272.333 FPM. I have read that you really should not go above 4,000 FPM for a typical forged rod. However, for my 300zx, Eagle recommends no faster than 8500rpms on their rods. That is with an 83mm stroke putting the piston speed at 4,632.5 FPM.
If you spin a 3.662" stroke to 7,700rpm that puts the FPM at 4648.233, which is close to the 300zx max.
Anyways... Enough of the theories. What are some of you high revving guys spinning your fully forged bottom ends too? Hell, what are guys with the stock crank spinning too?
