Harlandsharp roller rockers brocke at the bearing
one of my 1.7 LS2 harlandsharp rockers brocke at the bearing and i can be happy that it didn`t broke complete.
I only mentioned because i found a needle from a needle bearing on my oil plug.
My mechanic made a mistake because he didn`t look when he installed the harder valves in my AFR 225 heads. The rocker arm hit the valve spring retainer for a while till the arms were cut a little bit at the side.
Also some cutters have little sratches but i controlled it and now the rolls hit exactely the valves. Maybe also this was from the first miles with the rockers before they were cut a the side. Now i run the engine about 5000 miles and saw that one roller rocker (next to last on the driver side) broke at the bearing.
How can this happen after this short live? Could this have been caused from cutting the rocker by the valve spring retainer?
It is very interesting, that this roller rocker is the only one that has no cut from the retainer (see the pict)!
Can i get roller rockers with a smaller front but massive ones for over 1000 rwhp?
Should i also use lash caps but i have only about 0,05906" clearance from the valve steam to the cutters!
Is it normal that the pushrods loose the color on some points (see pict)?
