Default Polishing Inside of Cast GM pan?

I'm using an LS7 pan on a build and I am amazed at how rough the interior surface is.

It seems to me that, being a dry sump, it would seem ideal to have the interior surface of the pan be as smooth as possible to promote oil draining to the pickup tube (so it can be pumped back to the oil tank).

Has anyone "polished" (smoothed) the interior of these pans? Would it make any difference? Would it be better to just have the surface teflon coated ($65 local coater I know)?

Glyptal promotes oil flow. It was a common racers trick to glyptal the factory lifter valley to help the oil flow back to the oil pan. Maybe you could try that.
