Need help with 4L60E to T56 swap on 2002 T/A
Looks like I've decided to go M6 on the 2002 TA I picked up not long ago. Do you guys have full info on what all parts I need? I don't know if its any different than the M6 I did on the 96 LT1 Z28 and this was yeeeeaaaaars back....
Here are the parts I'm thinking I need:
T56 with Bell housing for 2002
Shifter
All pigtails for connectors
manual pedals
Rubber boot for shifter
Slave cyl
master cyl
throwout bearing
crossmember and mount
Clutch and pressure plate
Maybe Flywheel
Questions I have:
Is the drive-shaft different on the manual ls1 cars?
Is the Flywheel same and can I use my existing auto flysheel?
How about the ECM, Do I need to change out the ECM or just modify or run a few extra wires (like I had to do on the LT1 with reverse lockout) while keeping same ECM?
Lastly, since I don't have much help or space to work on cars now. I was thinking of having a shop pull the A4 and install the M6 for me, then I finish up the rest of the swap on my own. any thoughts on this? Should I take any steps prior to bringing it to the shop, like cutting the hole for shifter? I figured all I need is the shifter hole, the hole for clutch cylinder can be done later.
Oh... where do you guys get your parts these days? used and new parts. Been out of fbody scene for years, kind of lost a bit.
Any and all help appreciated. Thanks
