They mathimatically defined the turbulence layer... I don't know how long it will take this formula to be available to everyone else, but it looks like mean velocity curve has been successfully mapped. Being able to more accurately model fluid dynamics could be huge...

We'll see how much it changes the shape of things in practice. Not sure if boundary layers are affected more by shape or surface textures, or if they interplay. Could potentially cause some quick change though.
