Older than most whom have posted. Professional Mechanic by trade and schooling. Went 2 1/2 years to Clover Park Tech College for Automotive Tech; *** in Mech Egineering and various class courses over the years relating to mechanics. My start in cars was from birth, my father raced Altereds throughout my young life. I have built many cars/rods/bikes, to many to list. My current job is as a Maritime Mechanic/Engineer and work for Nordlund Boat Co. Our last project was Vic Edelbrock Jr's mega yacht. My domain is the engine room, all one off design and built/designed in house. No one has posted any pics in this thread, but here is a couple of the engine room.

I have been able to go from really liking car to doing more of the work myself. I only talk about what I know about or have learned and avoid anything outside my knowledge.

And now have the opportunity to work with a couple of manufacturers of some pretty trick products in sales.

I've done some wrenching in the past 61 years. Today I let the Pro's, many of them friends, do the work. I have always been interested in cars. I was fortunate to begin selling cars in 1968 when many dealers knew nothing about High Performance cars. I raced in several NHRA stock classes. I also street raced one car. I was forced out of the business when GM went on strike in 1971. I raced several cars through 2003. I returned to selling automobile in 2000. I've sold GM, Honda, Nissan, Mazda, Suzuki & Kia.

Chevrolet has normally been my vehicle of choice. In the areas were I'll post hopefully my opinions will be read because of my many years of experience.

50 year old Licensed Professional Counselor who loves to get his hands dirty since age 17 when I started tinkering with VW's. Leave real major stuff to my gearhead friends with shops or lifts when I need to. Just finished helping to do a performabuilt level 2 tranny swap on my Z with son and friends.

I built my first motor right when I turned 15, it was a daily driver 355 that made 442hp. I went to School of Automotive Machinists in Houston, graduated '05. I've worked as a CNC machinist in the Aerospace industry since graduation, but have still built a few blown big blocks for power boats, some dirt track motors, and a few drag motors since then. Nothing impressive, I'm just addicted to building engines.

33yr old service plumber/manager. I've read everything automotive I could get my hands on since I was a little kid. Tore apart and repaired my first engine (79 Subaru) when I was 14 and never looked back. Helped build/maintain circle track cars with one of my buddies starting at 16yrs with mini stock pinto up to Hooters Cup limited late models a couple yrs later. Built my 1980 Z28 myself when I was 20. Helped many friends with all things automotive. Self taught and always learning, no one ever knows everything!
I hate paying someone to do what I can do, I rarely trust them to do it the way I would.
