Dcr-scr Compression For Cams Help I was wondering if anyone could help me on the DCR-SCR compression ratio .I dont know which "dcr-scr" is good or how to compute it. Im lookin at these cams to find one that will have good results MS3,G5X4 .With stock 98 LS1 pistons and stock 5.3 combustion chamber size.With GM MLS head gaskets dont know the thickness, sorry for not having all the info but Im sure you guys will try to help me thanks for any input. I have heard that the MS3 has low DCR but dont know about the G5X4, what do you guys think??? 
Problem is we don't know the specs on the G5X4 so no real good way to evaluate the DCR.
DCR is usually a good thing, too much can lead to detonation. Sometimes in a engine build tring to get the most DCR you can get can be a negative in terms of performance. All in all it's a good thing to add into a cam or engine design.
