Fastener Selection
Fastener selection may sound easy, However there are so many variables and choices that improper fastener selection is likely to happen. To choose the proper fastener for the job getting a baseline knowledge of different materials and coatings is a good start.
I came across an excellent explanation in my searches and figured it could be a good resource for others wanting to know about fasteners.

There is MUCH more that can be said and each fastener type could have pages written about it, however this should get you started on your way
