Good post Erik...LOL I love it!

The best thing to do is call Erik (racer7088) and have him design and build your engine. He will get you what you want and it will last.

who said it could not turn high rpm? old iron 350s can turn 8500 rpm and do it with old iron heads too.

Got a link to a calculator to figure that out?
I would strongly suggest a manual trans for what you are doing. With 3.23:1 gears and a typical F-car tire (e.g. 275/40/17 or 315/35/17), 7600 rpm will be needed to run 180 in third gear (1:1).

If you have to ask, you probably dont have any business trying to build it. Its just sad that people know very little to nothing about cars, couldnt probably change the cam in their car and write huge checks for their 450+ cube 1000hp+ street cars and talk like they are in the know.

There should be a test to own a fast car, where you have to know how to use a jackstand and maybe how to using a timing light at minimum lol...

Ok my rant is over
If rich people weren't around to push the limits of builders each day than cars would still be stuck in the 12's, and that would be considered a badass machine today. I think people, like YOU, who think people MUST know how to build an engine in order to own a serious engine, well, are just FUCKED in the head, period. 9 out of 10 speed shops in this country would be out of ****** business if it wasn't for people that just pay for set-ups. WE are the majority, not you guys who can repair and build your own ****.

Get off your high horse because you know how to use a ****** timing light

Well, my car isn't much, an approximate 500 RWHP/500 RWTQ daily driver. Not bad. But if you want to run some crazy, sick cars, I can certainly take you to the spots down in Miami/Lauderdale. 1,000+ RWHP cars, all over the place. All I'm really waiting on, or maybe I should say my builder is waiting on, is the LSX iron blocks to start shipping. Than he'll be building my project, it'll be the car to race, from a roll that is

Lightweight components IE rods and pistons that are very closely balanced to each other and to the crankshaft

If I'm there I'll show ya where to go. I live in Orlando now and I'm down south almost every weekend. My builder is waiting for his batch of LSX iron blocks, and my name is on one of them. TT will also be part of its name

a good bottom end which sounds like you have that going for you, and the proper bearing clearances, and proper oiling, other than those things make sure the damn thing is assembled clean and properly, thats all you can wish for

building a motor to spin 9k rpm to make xxx hp is a but silly unless you are limited for a racing class. ie, no power adder, limited displacement etc. if you want power go turbo/nitrous/cubes. if you want to go 50-180 roll races buy a supra!

They're the slowest of the high horsepower cars in south Florida nowadays. Couple fast ones but for the most part they're not much anymore. TT Heffner Vipers, TT sbc's and blown bbc's, TT Porsches, even a 1,500 rwhp Ford GT just came on seen recently. A TT 454ci powered T/A will be out this year too, it'll be the car to beat.

The funny thing here is that you probably think that you cant huh?

A few marks on the balancer or an aftermarket balancer and a fabb'd up pointer and you can use a timing light on these cars...

The word (Cant) is not in my vocabulary .

Concidering LS1's are tuned with software kinda make a timing light pointless .

The funny thing here is that you probably think that you could ,, hehe
