So are you running stock tank and pump? I figure I would have to change my lines and pump anyway but I don't want to swap out the tank. How much of an injector jump would you recomend?

.

I forgot to mention I was told dual injectors were better than one bigger injector.

After FLP ripped me off, (took my money and never delivered parts). I went to ASSC and they were very helpful, got info & specs needed when promised and always returned phone calls. So if you guys that already have injectors, instead of buying new huge ones, make sure you check that adding another of the same or smaller size doesn't work better. I was starting from nothing, so I had to buy dual anyway.

The reason I push ethanol more than methanol is it's american grown, processed and renewable. Methanol is better for the air than gas, but it still comes from oil.

For power and octane rating, E85 is a Great deal.

Also remember that Methanol is a lot more corrosive and even toxic, compared with Ethanol. I am just saying that alcohol can be very different, as in Ethanol or Methanol.

E85 is definitely a good deal for power and it's relaitvely feasible for an OEM system. But for it to work for the forseeable future, we need t find a way to pull the water that condenses in alchohol back out of the alchohol. Alchohol being hygroscopic, it actually pulls water out of the air. Then the alchohol and water combine to form formic acid, which is what is actually the corrosive component of alchohol. so when they come up with an alchohol dryer We'll be all set to stick it to the saudis

Keep your fuel cap on and you'll be fine.

Hey Runn,
Thank you for the info
Considering I live in the farm land of WI, we have quite a few stations with E85.
I've been looking at it for a while but was wondering about it being too corrosive to the lines, now they are answered.
You say 42#'s for injectors?
Correct me if I wrong anybody, but don't 03-04 Cobra's run that size and I think they go for like 100-150 low mileage used.
It would be sweet to grab a set, tune, and rock and roll.

The production of ethanol from sources other than corn is a big-time growing technology. Once it becomes practical, we'll see E85 become economicly feasabile really quick. As for the corrosiveness factor, I've never actually heard the reason why... so all that has to be figured out is how to keep it away from water?

Not for an OE warranteed car.
The air the EVAP system lets in will kill a car that sits for too long. But if it's driven every day, no problems. OEM's have to think about everything that could happen to a car under warrantee

I appreciate everyone's comments. When I first started this thread, I had no idea that there would be this much interest or that the discussion would be sustained as long as it has been.

Thanks,

Steve
