Default 2003 Z06 transaxle

I currently have a 2004 mustang mach1 w/full bolt'ons I have seriously been thinking about trading it in for a 2003 Zo6 Selling my blower and immediatley install head's cam/intake exhaust/gears/tires/and a 100 shot. The question i have is just how much power will the T-56transaxle take/halfshafts also i have done a lot of work on ls1 and i Will be doing all of the work myself i was just curious to what all was needed to make a stout rearend in a corvette possible parts and what the cost thanks.

here is my setup that has held up to a 408 stroker on a 200shot launching on full slicks.
Built trans (synchros and forks , no billet mainshaft yet)
stock 3.42 rearend with 300m outputs shafts (both of them)
DTE transmission brace.

these things have made my car pretty reliable at the drag strip. the only other thing i would suggest is a billet main shaft in the transmission, that is going to be my next upgrade when i refresh my transmission.

its not a transaxle. its a conventional gearbox just mounted at the back

seriouly though have a look see on corvetteforum.com and see what those guys are running. there are some very good companies that can build you a bomb proof trany if you need one!

I have broke a few C-5 rears and trans. The main shaft of the trans is weak were it goes into the pinion of the rear. Mine twisted right apart on slicks. Ive seen a few diff cases just blow apart from the forces inside of it pushing it out. Yank makes a steal diff case now and billet side covers. Im sure it not cheap. If you got a hardened main trans shaft and the 2 hardened diff shafts you could probably be OK. You are always on barrowed time in a C-5. Thats why Ive got a glide and 9inch now.

Depends on how you drive.
High speed rolls, you can get away with the stocker.
Launching/drag racing/road race continuous grip levels... you'll want to upgrade pronto, you'll definitely be on borrowed time when you push the envelope.

We had a diff shear off the transmission on my buddies bolt on ZO6. Needless to say after replacing the T56 and diff he put the DTE brace on.
