Default Custom Intake

Who is running a Custom built Intake on their LSX Engine..

I'm looking into this idea since there isn't a really big aftermarket for the L92/LS3 Heads, and they have a ton of potential.

I was thinking of building something like a LT1 Style Intake, but with longer Runners..kind of a cross of a Victor Jr. but with a Plenum on it where the Air will come in and where the Throttle Body can bolt to, and make it to where I can still run my Fuel Injection.

I wish I could say that I did, but my fabrication skill are limited at best. Keep us posted if you do decide to build one.

I'm thinkin about it.. the L92 Heads can produce some power.. the problem is that the L76 Intake can't supply anything past 6500 max..so it's literally like a brick wall.

I'm thinking that my idea will help out alot, just looking for some feedback from anyone here..

Well after talking to the guys that produce this Intake, I got some numbers.

For the roughly $3K investment, it is a 15hp gain up to 7000RPM's, and some loss of torque down low.

I think I'll stick with the L76 and wait for the Weiand Street Warrior for that price.. the numbers on that are more promising.

IMHO with the shorter runners that will be a higher rpm intake. Unless it is used on a big inch motor.

I want one for my 402..I guess I've hit the wall for what I have since an Aftermarket Intake won't gain that substantially.

Bech makes them for most any application, from 90mm to 115mm TB's and we sell them as a package with TB & fuel rails all for under $3k.

Low profile to fit under a stock C6 Z06 hood:

And the standard config:

I was in the same boat but I have some fabrication skills so I made my own.

My car runs great, but I have a mail order tune that I have not had tested on a dyno or track. I have no idea what the timing is either. I'm planning on going to test and tune on Wednesday though. Cam is a Patrick G grind mid 220s/high 230s ~.600 lift. It feels pretty soft below 5 grand but I can't say if that's from the intake or the tune.

I would have modified a carb intake if I didn't have the capacity to build this one. Cost was minimal aside from the $400 Nick Williams TB.
