I also agree that Burns makes some of the nices collectors I have seen. A friend of mine has played around with different collector on a engine dyno and track, every time he has improvements with Burns. If you buy parts form them they will spec out a header to meet your needs.

Isn't the collector on the ARH, QTP, Kooks all modeled after or similar to the Burns collector? All of those have the 'velocity' spike in them.

Very correct info! Glad to see it!! A header of that type would bring 5-7k in the racing world, and usually space constraints negate it

I emailed to Stan's Tri-Y Headers. He built nice it..

I am sorry but we don't make a Camaro LS1 header at this time. We can custom build a set on your car in our shop and custom headers usually cost between $2000.00 and $2500.00 installed. We should look at your car to determine if there is anything different that we would have to build in order to make all of your smog equipment in tact.

Heres what I can add, the venturi/choke on the merges work to pull the exhaust gases away from the motor. When the pipe diameter decreases, the velocity of the gases increases, which results in a pressure drop, creating a pseudo vacuum effect. My vote for the best design would be the collector that increases back to full diameter size the smoothest, doesn't just immediately go back to 3 inch or what have you. If you increase diameter to quickly, you will get vortices near the sides which will disrupt flow.

Also, I drew up an h-pipe setup the other day that uses two venturis to maximize the benefit of the pressure drop/scavenging. I want to build it and see now it performs.

Not sure if this is 100% correct for maximum power gains, but it's what I learned when I took fluids.
