Even if you use 2500 grit wet sand paper you will still have to use some plastic polish to get them to look like new...

Thread from the DEAD, everybody run, AHHHHH. To the guy who brought it back from the dead that 3M kit is alright. I've used the Meguires kit on my Dakota and it worked alright. Still neither is as good as wetsanding and polishing like the steps talked about earlyer in this thread.

...You bought a $20 kit for hazy headlights?

Get 2000 grit, wetsand the light left to right until the yellow film/water turns to WHITE (meaning you've reached clean plastic) Then polish the f*ck out of the headlight with whatever polish you have.

edit: Holy crap I didn't realize how old this was.

Yes its a old thread!

I did this last night, wet sanded, then dry sanded with 2000 grit.
Then CLEARED with 1500° clearcoat dupont paint.

Here is the result....
BEFORE:

AFTER:

Cost me $0.00 I had the clear paint and sandpaper left over from other projects.
I actually just sanded, then cleared, let sit for about 30 minutes, and they were on the car over night. Clean and clear now

LOL, they took your money. We only charge $40 at our store. Thats right, I work in the Wal-Mart Tire Lube Express. We sell the same kit inside for $20. So you gave them $25 to have them take a product you would have used and wasted it. As for "low quality help," don't use blanket terms, it shows a lack of intelligence. Sure, the e hiring process isn't exactly rigorous, but it doesn't mean there aren't quality workers. ALL my car friends come to ME to get their stuff mounted and balanced. For 3 years. No complaints yet. Think before you type next time.

I agree, Walmart is the problem here. Never EVER let them work on your car. They didnt even know how to change the air filter in a friends Civic, AND they left the oil drain plug loose. I smacked him upside the head for goin to Walmart to get an oil change.

Again, I've done thousands of oil changes with no issue.

You seem to be taking this a bit personally. So what you're the one in a million totally awesome wal mart employee, they still did a sub-par job on his car.

Like I said, I admit that Wal-Mart hires aweful employees. But the posts seem to make it sound like everyone at WM sucks. But hey, I do tell all my friends to ONLY come to me, so I do tend to agree with the statement, LOL. My bad.

Thanks mang!

I went back, took the lights out again and wet sanded again.

Went for some plastic UV transparent clear at autozone for 7.50 a can.

Went ahead and did my dads 265K toyota camary, and installed a new grill in my camaro. Toyota has never looked better, also upgraded his H4 lights from 55-60 to 80/100 watts for 20.00..

Here they are.
Dont mind the Daily Driver on the street, she is nothing to look at
4.1 big turbo, fmic, high z 60's, julios meth kit, erics chip, ported heads, 214 cam... Used to be 450 rear wheel horse before the mods.
