thats exactly what i do. try to wash it on a nice day when its the warmest and in the sun. try to plan accordingly with the weather forecast if you can.
leave the car running so its a little warmer. rinse it off with the hose, but when your actually washing it with suds, use warm water from the inside faucet; it wont freeze on the car and it wont freeze your hands.

i usually wash my car once a week. and out of the many times i washed it last winter, only once did the water freeze on me. and i too am from NY

Wouldent that copper pipe conduct the cold?

Yes but the inside of the house is warm, so it won't freeze.

I just get all bundled up, put on a heavy set of rubber gloves, get the coffee machine brewing and go to town. With the amount of salt and **** they use around fucked up Jersey when there's like .0003" of snow, I can't afford not to.
Ha ha, I sell those as well as the ones that are hot and cold water. It works just like a shower turn to left for hot and to right for cold with neutral in the middle, they are frost proof as well. I replaced all of the ones on my house with these. I use hot water in the winter for the washing the car and the dog.

I'm from Long Island as well, haha.
I usually fill up the bucket with warm water from inside anyway, I was just concerned about using the hose lol. What exactly is a "touchless" car wash?

to get the water out of the hose, turn off the shut off in your basement then squeeze the nozzle on the hose until all the water comes out. a little water inside wont hurt.

a touchless wash is when all the soaps and water is sprayed on your car and then its dried with a blower. nothing actually touches the car except soap and water.

and by the way, was your red ws6 at the bellmore car show tonight?
