TA Gauge Cluster in Camaro?
I was just wondering if this was possible. I mean lets not fool outselves, there's more than just the bezel that looks cool about the TA gauge cluster, Camaro's just have a plain looking cluster, the TA cluster looks really good and I don't really want to do white face gauges to jazz up my existing cluster...
I was wondering if the cluster could just be swapped. And as I understand the odo info is stored inside the cluster so obviously that would be off... is it possible to have it recalibrated to my current mileage so it is accurate?

You can just swap them, no problem. They use the same electronics. Only difference is the gauge face and the bezel. Maybe you can buy a take-off gauge face from someone who went to white or 200 MPH. In theory you can get the bezel for $50 or so from a dealer.

Now the question remains - will the mileage be correct? Is it stored in the cluster or in the PCM somewhere? I'd love to just find a cluster at a junk yard because all in all it just looks a lot better, the numbers, everything! I don't want to do it if the mileage wont be correct or can't be fixed.

Its just a piece of plastic. I have a TA bezel in mine. It was like 20 bucks from gmpartsdirect.com. It replaces the camaro plastic cluster. has nothing to do with the electronics.

Viserys you must not have read what I said, there's more to a TA cluster than just the bezel. I want to get the whole TA cluster not just the bezel.

The electronics are the same, so you could just exchange the PC board and the odometer display. I've not tested it, but I believe that there is a good chance that the mileage is stored in the display itself and you can swap those in a couple of minutes, though it's faster to swap the PC board and the display.

Obviously this involves removal of the needles... how does recalibration go? You have to mark the needle positions then reinsert the gauge cluster and assemble the needles with battery or engine running so you can put the needles back in correct position?

The mileage is stored in the guage cluster, so it would probably behoove you to just remove the overlay!!
