You can sometimes score them used for good bargains...look around. My buddy said to hit up dealerships/mechanic shops that are closing...

Your car is INCREDIBLE!

LOL, 97ramsst: You have absolutely nothing to be worried about. Your car is extremely sick !

Thanks to the other guys for also giving props ! On a side note, the car has been driven more in the last month than it has in 5 + years ! I think I have put about 750 miles on the car in 4 or 5 weeks. It's still absolutely spotless, driving it mostly at night on the weekends for some quick street action in Dallas. I been having a blast with this thing, forgot how much I love F-body's

ah cool thanks.. i just popped mine off and while i did find a bit of dust/dirt under there, after i took a wet paper towl to the area, it came back very clean.. only thing i did find was one or 2 chipped areas around the holes but no rust the paint even looked new under the dust/dirt.

i think now i'll make it a monthly ritual when i'm driving the car in the summer to wipe those down to keep dirt from building up.

i'm guessing you got some salt built up down there in yours since you're in illinois.

(all those white flakes are just dust particles.. i forgot to go over the rockers with the cali duster after i wiped them down with the wet paper towel/dried the area)

thats probably a good idea to let people know to pull those up and clean under them every once in awhile to prevent rust there

and i just realized i missed the lip up at the top by the interior panel so i had to take both of them back off and wipe that area down

We picked ours up for $800. It came out of a dealership in Charleston that changed locations, but didn't take their equipment. It isn't new (which is good...this one has a quicker lowering time because it was built before new OSHA regulations took effect) but it was newly refurbished a couple months before they changed locations. Install was free because my buddy and his father are the only certified lift installers in the tri-state, so he came over and we put it in. I could have done it without a professional, but didn't know that prior to seeing it being installed. WELL worth the time and money. Makes those pesky clutch swaps a breeze.

Damn, 2k for a lift isn't bad at all. I don't even have a garage right now as i'm still in high school and live with my parents, but I was just wondering. Hopefully i'll be lucky enough to one day have a big garage and a lift!

Here ya go, lots of sanding, polishing, painting, and some new parts, and your good to go, then just maintain, and don't drive in wet streets.

yeah that would do it, lol...

my car saw every winter from 1995-2007

95-96 in hawaii
96-00? (not sure on this one i do know they moved to north carolina sometime in 96 but i dont know when they moved to FL) in north carolina (only saw a dusting of snow once)
00-05 in florida (away from the coast, they lived in weston, and i bought it in 2004 and i too loved away from the coast)
05-07 phoenix AZ

and the only northern winter it "saw" was last winter.. although i dont know how much it saw from underneath a car cover in my garage
