Would a 9 inch slick fit on a 7 inch rim ok?
I am thinking about getting the following Centerline Warrior wheel from Summit:
CLL-075705547 15 in. x 7 in., 5 x 4 3/4 in. bolt circle, 5 in. backspacing, polished, Warrior Wheel
Does everything look ok with the specs on that rim?
I am planning on getting 26x9 inch Hoosier slicks to mount on these rims. Would I have contact patch problems or fenderlip problems with this combo? I wanted to get the lightest rim/tire possible while still being able to hook. (TP4400 converter, 4.11 gears)
Your thoughts appreciated.

Cool thanks Trevor! Looks like that is the route I am going to take,
Centerline Warrior 15x7 inch rims and 26x9 inch Hoosier Slicks.

Why are you thinking about going with such a small tire? My plans call for a set of Hoosier QuickTime Pro DOT 27X11.5/15's. Those fit great on a 8-10" rim and Nobody makes a DOT drag tire stickyer.

well first a full slick will outhook at DOT tire hands down.
Second, the narrower the tire you can run while still maintaining traction the faster you will go in the 1/4.
I want to maintain the lightest weight possible and still get traction.
The Centerline Warrior 15x7.5 inch rim is very light and the Hoosier 26x9 inch slick hooks like a mother
Cheers,

You hit the nail on the head Chris! People think that they need 11.5" of tire to pull 1.6 60' times. I ran an 11.5" tire on my '67 Chevy II, and it pulled 60' times consistently in the 1.46-1.48 range. My best with those tires was a 1.44. You might know they were Hoosiers.
