if you mess up, you sand/strip it off and do it again. its not hard but its your money.

you can get vht as dark as you want depending on how many coats you have and how heavy its painted on.

^ the darker the cover, the harder. this is natural as its blocking light. replacing the bulbs with leds will make it brighter though. you can get ones that screw in and hold like 5+ or something.

imo do it yourself, couldn't be hard. start with signals, they don't stand out much anyways. if it doesn't look perfect, get someone else to do taillights or get a cover (i think there's a cover).

I used it on my car. Light shines through perfectly (but I have to redo one front marker, lol). I did my front markers (blinkers), rear side markers and my third brake lamp. And all of them look real black during day light.

EDIT: can't get into my photobucket to upload pics

I say try it yourself first. If it doesn't work out, then go get it done. Unless you REALLY don't trust yourself and you think your gonna spray VHT all over your car or something, but you should take the tails outta the car anyway, but you get my point.

If you mess up, just sand it down and take it to the shop, it won't make a difference. Oh yeah, and i'd keep the reverse lights clear. Blacking those out too is overkill IMO.

I hope you have a very nice picture in your head about how black this is going to look. All that black kinda takes away from the car. I have blacked out my side markers, 3rd brake light, and got covers for the 4 lights up front(fog and daytime running lights). My red tail lights and chrome tips break it up. Things like too much *** or too big of ****(yes ****) are not good. Bigger they get the fatter they get. Not sure where i'm going with this. I'm tired. Just don't want you to make a mistake of going too black and regretting it. Maybe some tail light covers before you make the commitment? Sorry for long post. Good luck.
