DETAIL: Curious for results-I just FLEXd it
The surface condition has both circular scratches from improper washing and drying practices as well as some previous high speed rotary buffer trails or holograms as seen on the hood and passenger side bed.

After a thorough wash to clean the surface, I followed with the clay bar to remove any gritty surface contaminants.

I taped off a small section to see what kind of results I can get. Here is with a 6.5" orange Lake Country CCS pad and Menzerna SIP worked for several minutes. I started the machine at speed 3 and worked up to top speed. The Menzerna does dust as can be expected with its use.

After working with Menzerna to correct as much of the surface damage as possible, I stepped down to white polishing pad and Swirl Cutter to smooth and refine the surface. Once done, I topped today's job with the TC-3 Sealant xP.

If you maintain the surfaces on a regular basis including clay bar 1-2times/year, wax or sealant appplication, you should not have to worry about oxidation or color fade.
I would like to know the same thing. I have a PC and I know these are newbie proof and you really cant mess the paint with these unless you really try.
Can you tell us more about the Flex ? How you like it compared to a Porter Cable ?
If your goal a near flawless finish, expect to start at several hundred dollars and up depending on the existing condition.
Flex vs. PC evaluation:
As you both have PC buffers and have seen their user friendly characteristics, the Flex takes these abilities and steps up to the next level of surface correction. Flex has a tighter spinning rotation and about 50% more power at the top end compared to the PC. The Flex weighs in at 5.75 pounds and has a 13' power cord.
We have sold many PC kits over the years and they will continue to be standard for safe, user friendly car care maintenance while providing the ability to remove a wide range of blemishes and scratches by beginners and novices. It is perfect for the individual who want to keep his own vehicle(s) to a desired level.
The Flex priced well into the upper $200 range provides a near rotary polisher correction ability. If you are more serious enthusiast or detailer, this is the next step for you. In addition, for those who are more determined with speed and faster results, the Flex buffer could be your answer. I have used it several times including a combination of a new prototype purple foamed wool/Menzerna SIP on a '97 BMW M3 and not inflicted a single hologram or swirl mark with its use.
