How to: The camaro light panel
but with less light bleed... and the potential for changing colors/intensities between each letter. like a little light show! lol.
anything is worth the whole lot of extra effort even for a little gain if it's what you want to see your car do though.

i would like to see your progress and finished product....as stated before im always intrested in an upgrade
good luck

that is... when I get around to it.
I'm looking for a good controller for 18 LED's... any ideas? lol.
(and yes... I do mean that I want one of each primary color in each letter. and yes... it will be a pita)
If you don't want it shiny, they make different colors of diffusing plastic (might have to look them up... sometimes they're hard to come by... stage lighting supply shops usually have them.)
The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
i bought a rear panel, didnt want to screw mine up
light
and had a body shop paint it
only had 150 in the whole project
to do it stepped, yes, you can. there are a couple ways.
the easiest would be to have two sets of lights, one wired to your drl's or side markers, etc... one of the sets of lights that come one when you're looking to have it come on.
and then wire the second set to your brake lights.
neon tubes take time for the ballast to kick in i think, so wouldn't be ideal for wiring to the brake lights.
Another way... I think you can wire led's and normal filament bulbs to run sequential with your drl's, and then have additional voltage pumped to them when the brake pedal is pressed by wiring into the brake lights as well.
I would recommend two sets of lights. Personally, I would use LED's simply because of how long they last, how much cooler they run than neon tubes, how much harder they are to break, etc...
to each his own, and i'm sure there IS a way to do it with neon tubes... i just personally don't like them, so i don't look into them very often.

but, I am an A.D.D. master... flashing and blinking lights are fun!!!
lol... oh, and I have i think a 12" or 20" green light bar (neon equivalent, not technically neon
) + ballast set up to run on a 12v dc current. it was originally meant to be a trunk light for the mustang when i got it. idk how long you're planning on waiting to do this... but give me until the next semester starts and settles off and i'll see if it will come on right away or if it has a ballast lag like the ones we tried to use for stage lighting did. (they worked great for lightNing though, lol)
