Head light mod

I want to paint my head lights black but I want to keep the inside by the bulbs chrome. Does any body have pictures of this? What type of paint should I use and how should I tape it off? Thanks for the help.

Oh yeah, I used regular 1" wide masking tape, and automotive spray paint. Just make sure you clean all the surfaces with some rubbing alcohol and dry them before painting. The biggest pain in the *** was getting the clear covers off.

How do you get the clear lens off? An oven?

yep, you have to bake them in the oven at around 180-200 F for a few minutes (5 minutes should do). You will smell the rubber if you leave them in too long lol. This softens up the silicone that is used to glue them in place. Then you can use a butter knife to cut away and pry the lens off. Its a major pain in the ***, the entire time you are worried about cracking the lens. Replacement lights aren't cheap either!
