Default Taillight Centerpiece

Okay here is my idea. I hate the redish bird and "Firebird" on my 2000 Formula taillight centerpiece. It just doesn't look right on my black car and doesn't distinguish my Formula from a Firebird. I think that the 93-97 Formulas had a plain black centerpiece (is that correct?). I want to find a plain black centerpice and have "Formula" acrosss the top and "LS1" right under the key hole. What do you think? I want silver letters. Anybody done anything similar? Will a dealership sell me the plain black centerpiece? If so how much?

LT-1's came with the same ugly red bird on the centerpiece. What i did was get nail polish remover, with cotton *****. Add small amount to the cotton ball, and wipe away lighty. Once the red bird is gone, get soap and water clean that area good. You dont want any left over nail polish hitting your paint job . This will remove that red marking in no time. Cost a lot less to do this, then find another centerpiece. As for another type of sticker for the centerpiece any sign shops can fab one up. Any size, color, even style that you can draw they can make. I've done the same thing and it came out good, as for a centerpiece i just put the NX badge under the key hole. Theres one shot in my web page that will show it.

LOL! I was the first LS1 owner on the net to get rid of that nasty tomato-red Firebird.

All LT1 Formulas came with an all-black centerpiece. It is an exact fit. Cost about $65 from the dealership, try one of our sponsors (PACE parts). Very simple to install also.

Here ya go:

LOL, that was actually one of the items that held me back from picking up my car when they prepped it. I looked at the tail center section and the red firebird was fading, mind you, it was a dealer showroom car since it was delivered.

So they actually sent it out and had it repainted firetruck red. It looks good still, 18 months later.

Fuels94, I took your advice and used nail polish remover and removed the bird. It came off pretty easy. My wife was afraid it would discolor the plastic so I was real careful and used a small amount of nail polish remover, was careful not to get it anywhere except for where the red is, and cleaned the remover off as soon as I was done. It does still have a slight indention where the painted area used to be but it doesn't look bad and most people probably wouldn't even notice. My car is black and I actually like the way it looks now without any decal back there. The car looks pretty tough now without the red bird and with my 3.5" Manaflow tips. Now all I need to finish the way my car looks is some 17" wheels.

Thanks for everyones replys.

Cool, I'm glad it turn out good for you. My T.A. also has that slight indention, but your right it's not noticable, and it looks stealthy.
