Just seen an ad on top of the page for them. Has them listed on the site with a part number but no price...

I looked into it. They're for LS-1 swapped vehicles. They cover the coil packs if the engine is in another car, so they can kind of match the valve covers.

Here's what i just found....

COIL COVERS FOR GM GEN III LS SERIES ENGINES
Edelbrock's new sand cast aluminum LS Series Coil Covers are a great way to dress up the LS1 in your street rod or muscle car. These coil covers are designed to eliminate the stock mounting brackets on transplanted LS1 engines by way of fitting coils directly to the underside of the Edelbrock cover. They are intended to create a clean under hood custom appearance and will not fit stock vehicles. These covers accept GM #12558948 coils or aftermarket equivalent replacement coils such as MSD #8245.

EDIT:

found the price on summit....

Edelbrock 41183

$256.39
Estimated Ship Date: 12/26/08

Yeah, not sure why they won't fit any ls vehicle. It just says that it won't fit 'stock' vehicles, and like I tell everyone who asks what's done to my car, I tell them "It's not stock".

So I guess it'll fit my car since it's not stock.

My question is how hard it would be to grind off the damn edelbrock logo.

Looks like a good idea, I wonder if someone could fab up something similar for themselves using $12 worth of aluminum, a pair of tin snips and access to a tig welder?

I just read another thread where a rep from Edelbrock stated that they aren't specifying a specific vehicle because of 'plumbing' issues under the hood. I'm guessing it has to do with the routing of the fuel lines into the fuel rail. Nothing a little modification can't fix.

Also, they are only for center bolt valve cover/heads since the covers bolt to the factory bosses for the coil packs.

Definately more than I thought they would be..damn.

Something tells me that they can be put on a F-body.. I don't see why they couldn't.

Well, considering factory fuel rail covers for corvettes go for upwards of $150 or more and they are just plastic, I think ~$150 for the as cast peices up to ~$250 for the fully polished set, I think it's a damn good deal.

I have a set coming my way after January 5th when they reopen and I'll post some pics as soon as I get them on.

I went with the as cast version because I am not sure how I'm going to finish them. I'm going to do some kind of pewter and black theme and tie it in with my FAST as well.

Will do. I'll probably just mount them as is at first and then figure out a theme for them and the intake.

I actually took them off the car as I got the truck coils which sit higher on the valve covers. I'm sure I can mod them to fit, it's just going to take some time. That's another winter project as I might strip them and polish them. We'll see.
