Edelbrock coil pack covers are finally installed.
Well, it's been a few months since I got these, and I finally got them intsalled today.
I grinded off the logo and the fins and then painted them black with a hint of pewter metallic, which I'm pretty happy about how they came out.
The first problem I encountered was the factory fuel rail was hitting the driver's side cover.
The next issue was the passenger side is really tight to begin with, but then to add the coil cover makes it even tighter.
I tried doing it the way it was designed and bolted the coils to the underside, but the issue is then getting the plug wires connected. One option is to start with #8 and work your way forward to #2, but it's really tight.
The other option is to keep the coils monted on the factory rails, and then to bolt the cover on top of it. I tried that at first, and there just wasn't a lot of room under the cover to maneuver it into place. So I had to grind most of the mounting tabs and finally got it to work, but it's tough. Definitely not an easy on/off setup.
At this stage, I'm probably going to relocate the EVAP line and clean that up. The intake lid is going to be redone to match as well.
Well, here's some pics...

Yeah, the pics don't really do it justice.
I plan to do billet accents to tie in the fuel rails and fuel line. Like the billet caps. It will look good.
And yes, I plan to reroute the evap line. I ordered a set of pushrods, so the valve covers will need to come off in the coming weeks anyway, and I'll reroute the evap then.

I know they aren't for everyone, but I think they look a million times better than the crappy plastic peices that people toss on the car that aren't even molded or shaped nicely. These at least cover everything and clean up the valve covers.
I'm not 100% sold on the black, hell I might strip the paint and polish them.
