Default 5/6 speed console in automatic

anyone ever put a 5/6 speed console in an automatic so that way you can have a boot (i think it looks alot nicer) and then get a nice shift **** with the automatic adapter? think it can be done? i have seen it done in mustangs but not sure about camaros.

There are custom shift boots available for automatics. You don't have to replace the console at all.
Is this something along the lines of what you were thinking?

I bought Redlines 3 piece set and the quality was great and the price was great but I did not like the look of the boot for the auto shifter so I sold the one piece. I also have the auto shift adapter and MBA shift ****.

i just dont like the look of the auto center console and i dont really like the look of having a boot on the auto console. And i like the ashtray position on a stick better. Do you think i could go all the way down into 1 without hitting the console if i did the swap? anyone ever hear of anyone doing this?

Here is a thread about installing a M6 console in an A4:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/appearance-detailing/532059-fabbing-leather-shifter-boot.html
(I know its initially a thread about a TH400, but scroll down for some applicable links.)

Here are some threads on A4 shift boots and different A4 *****:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/appearance-detailing/532471-aftermarket-custom-a4-shift-knobs.html

Here is how I added a shift boot to my A4:

I've actually thought about doing this. I hate the look of the dopey A4 shifter, so i thought of putting in an M6 console, and the A4 shift **** to M6 **** conversion. Only problem is.. is there enough room in the M6 "square" to shift throughout ALL the gears?

I don't think you'll be able to get all the gears, but the **** problem is easy to solve. I got the MBA shift **** adapter and was able to screw on a Hurst **** no problem. Any other **** should fit as well. The Hurst T-Handle **** I got came with a nut so you can position the T-Handle to the angle you need/want, but for a cleaner look I used red thread-lock, screwed the know all the way down and backed it up the (about) 1/8th turn so it was straight the way I wanted it. On the adapter there's two allen set screws that hold it in place and straight on the shift arm and I can still get to them to remove the **** if needed. Just a tip and $.02 for everyone!
