Default How to use my new porter cable?

I just got a porter cable 7424 and want to detail my car. I have the meguiars clay bar kit and meguiars 3 step. Now which pad do I use for each step? Right now I have a blue, white, and black pad. Im ordering the orange and yellow pad today. The car is black, so I want to get the swirl marks out as much as possible.

Look in the detailing section for better advice. But mine is to never use power tools on the paint. Clay bar is good, wax is good. Lots of care by hand is better. That's just me.

use it on someone else's car first so you know what not to do on yours.

Used in the hands of a professional, it can bring shine and depth to the paint that isn't possible by hand.

I would definitely practice on other cars first, the pc is very safe, but it takes getting used to.
I would spend some time on autopia.org, there is alot of good information there. I would think about some different compounds, those will work, but if you want the best results you might need more.

I picked up a pc and have practiced on my sisters civic

and my Dads Saturn

If you use what you have start with the orange pad and the first i think its called the paint cleaner
then move to either the blue or white with the polish, then apply wax with black

The condition of the paint dictates which pad to use. At least the first steps. You will be comfortable with the PC in no time. Like stated above Tropi-care's website has great information on pad selection and use.
