Initial Flames w/side birds Nov 2002 - $1600

Redo of Flames May 2003 - $1200

New WS9 hood w/flames July 2008 - $1400

I had a hard time finding a shop that would only do the hood. Most said to do it right the whole thing would need redone. If I had the money I certainly would've had it done that way but $4000 wasnt in my budget.

For those that hadnt seen the old flame job here is a pic. I like how they laid out the new flames much better!!! I told them I wanted more flame coverage then the old hood. THe made the shadowing alot darker then the original too which I really like This is a pic from 2004 when I had the formula bumper and gfx on it.




And this is taken fall 2006. If you look closely on the bottom flame portion in the "U" part near the "nostril" on the left you'll see a little bubble. That's when the paint started to deteriorate.

 

I like those boots . so are there any other plans for your car? ( sorry if you already posted that info)

Thanks . I have these other cool ones I got from Nine West but they're alot dressier. You'd prob like those too. The only thing I know I have planned for the car right now is to redo the interior. I'm tired of all the flamed stuff I did inside and the pewter...and just the whole stock look. I would love to get a 12 bolt or dana60 but I unless I hit the lottery or get a huge raise I dont see that happening anytime soon.

The cam was my big thing to get done by Tim and I Sept 07. I have pretty much everything else done over the last 8 years. It's gone through alot of changes too . I had alot more time back when I first got it to do alot of the appearance stuff myself since I was only working part-time but those days are long gone .

I like the sigma lenses...especially the 50-500 but I've got to set my exposure compenstation down to -1/3 to 2/3 most of the time as the Sigmas always seem to lack contrast and blow stuff out.

What camera/lenses do you have?

Oh yeah...I forgot I need to replace the clutch. I have the LS7 sitting here but have to buy the master/slave. This will be my 4th clutch!!

ya, I feel u on the 12 Bolt, I want one but there's just soo many things that take priority over it. I have a Canon Rebel XT but I'm debating on whether or not to get a Xsi

 

Soulpower..thanks! No I only did the interior. I wish I had the talent and knowledge to do the flames on the exterior!!

WS6 00...if I were you if you can swing it I'd get the Xti. You really arent gaining much with the Xsi and I dont even know why they came out with it. Save a little money and pick up the XTi! I had it before I bought the 40D.

My car has it's flaws now...its not in that great of shape! The clear coat is chipping bad along the door moulding from the previous crappy painters work. Thats sucks about your car!! Are you going to get it repainted and fixed?


Well I first had a Nikon D1x, sold it and bought the 20D which I never liked. I sold that to get the Xti because it honestly was scores better but I always missed the ability to be able to change to ISO's in 1/3 increments and the 40D had that plus less noise and the sensor cleaning.

 

Oh yeah, its definetly getting painted not this weekend but the weekend after that. The sail panel is going black as well and getting buffed all over. Hopefully springtime we could have a meet for MD/DC/VA, I'd like to get some pics of your car.

 

I'm trying to get a large gathering of fbody people this spring/summer and trying to hunt down the old timers from the SLP board. I posted about it in the Eastern Section.

at this point i can say that this is my favorite car on Tech. the flames and the rear bumper look amazing. great freakin job dude.

Trish....that sounds cool. I am definately going to try to attend. Tim got one of the door panels in tonight and I am so happy with how it looks. The 7 weeks of working on this project and the frustration paid off. This will be my first show in years! This is right off of 29 right? I know Brandy Station is that area where that old church is that's now a Civil War museum but dont know where the Fairgrounds is.
