Default thinking about blacking out tail lights

So I have a silver 02 camaro z28 and I want to black out my tail lights but I'm not sure what's the best thing to use? I just want something high quality (I don't half *** anything on my car). I would rather it be more of a dark smoke instead of completely black, so that you can see the actual lights a little bit when the sun is shining on them. Also I have seen some members cars with blacked out tail lights that are kind of glossy I guess? How would I go about doing that instead of having it just look like matte black?

or if you have access to a cup gun put a few drops of black in the clear coat and shoot that on there.

they are gonna stick out big time on a silver car if they are blacked out completely.......why not go with a sequential kit to make them different!

What is a sequential kit? And as for the cup gun... How many layers should I put on? Do I just get any regular clear coat paint and black paint?
