40% or 45% tinted windshield pics???
i've had 5% tint on my T/A and my Z28 and have been pulled over 3 different times for it. if your nice, explain yourself, and have a pic of the car with no tint to take to court, you have nothing to worry about.
FWIW, i have heard of people being pulled over for tint, giving the cop a doctors note and having it ripped off because "a doctor can't change state laws" lol.

Then those cops are idiots. Because that is the state law. I would take the note to the DMV and apply for Tint Plates.

30 is not dark at all
20 is dark
40-45 is a waste of money to even have it done
To do the front window you must be stupid if you get in a accident not only will your ins company most likely not support you the accident will be your fault immediately once someone points it out to the cop(s)

You gotta keep in mind thats since the windshield is at an angle, it'll make the tint look darker than it actually is. Look at a 50% tinted window from an angle not straight on. 35% is plenty dark enough for the windshield. Anything darker would be dangerous.

35% isnt darker enough i got 15% on my windsheild and 5% over 15% on everything else and this is my ext. cab truck

yeah out here in the nw burbs in dupage they screw with you quite a bit for tints. cops out here have nothing better to do anyways. i had 5s all the way around and 35 on the winshield. i got pulled over like 4 or 5 times with it and brought pics and a doctors note into court and the fine was dropped.
20% all the way around for me...dark enough and not quite legal either haha but i never get issues. I always have my windows down in the summer and i guess most "reasonable" cops figure that most people wouldnt choose a black and orange trans am to use in dug deals or drive buys so they leave me be haha
in the day time, from the outside i can barley tell the difference from clear glass when driving.
at night, with the headlights on, i don't really have any problems seeing either.
and people don't even notice when riding with me, unless it was pointed out by me, or they noticed it on the outside.

Winsheild tint has been on my things to get done list for a couple months..I have to get with my tinter today and see if he can do it Sunday!
