Help me!!! I bought a white 99' trans am awhile back, nothing too special. I'm currently deployed to Iraq, and when I get, as a treat to myself, I wanna give my car a better look. The problem is I have no idea where to begin. I wanna get a ws6 hood, and paint it either black, silver, or blue, but beyond that I have no idea what I want, or how to do it...help please. I will have a few thousand to sink into it, but not an unlimited budget, so please, no high-end suggestions.
VFNFiberglass.com for a ws6 replica hood - 500.00
-remove the door molding - free
-remove the "trans am" lettering from the door - free
-some form of new wheels, in my opinion you need chrome probably 1K or so
-front stainless bird - 80.00 I think?
-rear stainless trans am letters - 40
-CETA mod, if you don't know what that is, search and you'll quickly learn - small cost for paint
-lower it - 500.00
-315's - depends on brand, 600.00
Sounds like a lot, but with a few thousands like you say you have, it's easily accomplished. You'll have a stellar ride with all this done, trust me.
1700 bucks give or take and your lookin good.

+1 for white with chrome rims. I still have other little touches I want to do, like CETA and the front bird and a little drop (though long tubes are not a friend there)

Keep it white, lowering springs, WS6 hood, and C6 Z06 Chrome wheels. Clean white cars with chrome rims look so good 
A black CETA mod would look good too.

cause white f-bodies are the sex 
You may not like it now, but once you get some appearance mods like lowering and some wheels, it'll compliment it really nicely. Plus you can use the remaining money that you wouldve used for a paint job, for something better

Okay after I posted this I started to think that you posted this question in the apperance section and that you didnt' want any Drivfetrain upgrade so i'm sorry for my comment. But I agree with phantomzero on this one...........................

alright fair enough. I was thinking maybe the boyd coddington smoothie wheels, they look pretty sick. also I've been lookin around and can't figure out what the hell the CETA bumper mod is, all i can find is people talking about the paint job...is that all it is? sorry I'm really clueless on this
