since i have 2 spoilers i am going to do the following:
the TA spoiler that is on my car, will stay un-touched...
the extra TA spoiler that i have, i will remove the supports and then paint the color of the car...
i've gotten a good mix of ideas and opinions from everyone that voted and who have said either remove them or leave them be. thanks to all for your opinions. i will keep all updated as i do the work on the extra spoiler...

see that's what im talking about. thanks for posting that pic!
any way you could take a pic from the side and then one from the left rear showing the underside of the spoiler? i have thought about doing the samething to my SS spoiler for a while. cheaper than getting the Mecham z29 hood for sure...

here are a few more. the support that is on the driver's side has been smoothed like the rest of the underside of the spoiler. got started on the passenger support but called it a day.
the spoiler is still sturdy and i highly doubt once completed that it will sag...

ok, both supports have been removed and the spoiler has been sanded smooth to the rest of the underside.
now, i have fiberglass resin and woven fiberglass, however before i start patching with that (if its the right material for the job), i want to know exactly what type of composite plastic or poly-plastic i am working with so i can achieve the best bond.
does anyone happen to know that the spoiler is made up of?

it doesnt feel or look like all 100% fiberglass to me...
i think it's either TPO - Thermo-Plastic Olefin
or
FRP - Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (composite plastic for bumpers, etc)...
even though the spoiler is hollow, it is sturdy but still flexes if you push down on it. so whatever material i use to patch with will, what i think, be the same. i could always buy a fender and cut it and insert the pieces in the holes and then fiberglass/bondo from there do get the desired result. right now, that looks to be the best approach.

UPDATE:
picking up the TA spoiler pictured above tomorrow as a donor spoiler for patching the holes in mine. I will cut out pieces larger than the openings and then place them on the inside-underside of the spoiler. Then I will fiberglass and bondo from the underside exterior of the spoiler until the holes are filled.
FYIW, the material is FRP - Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic Mat that is then thermo-molded into shape.

I think removing them besides everything mentioned above would compromise the rigidity of the spoiler. Plus it doesn't look right. You need to freshen up your photochop skillz too man.
Interesting idea though...

i dont feel that it is either. it's still plenty sturdy, and after i complete reinforcing it with the exact same material (throughout a larger area as well), and finish it off, it should reamin as such.
once it's completed and on the car, time will tell...

update:
things have progressed slowly on the spoiler since being laid off from my job. i have pieces cut to fill and patch the holes from the second TA spoiler purchased. hopefully i can get back to working on it shortly, but in the meantime, i have made getting employed again in my profession a top priority...
