Whistler Mod
Okay this may be a dumb question, but does the whistler mod make your head lights put out less light. I want to do it to my car but not if it will effect the output of light.

I have been talking about doing it for a while, but just wanted to make sure that it wouldnt mess anything up with the reflectors. Looks like i'll be doing this mod along with VHT'ing my tail lights this spring

i just finished doing the whistler mod to my car.... it looks sick and was pretty simple to do... i would reccomend doing it to any ls1 camaro....the part i was afraid of is putting my headlights in the oven but i set the oven to 250F and set them in there for about 15 to 20 minutes apiece and they came apart very easily

The only light output affected would be the glare. That shiny part on the bottom is going to reflect a little light upwards out of the light, so painting that black should reduce glare a little bit. The main reflector is still chrome though so your usable light output doesn't change.

I had mine headlights off the car cleaning the haze of and what the hell why not whistler. I pulled the lens off with out using the oven actually the first one just poped off easy. The second one was a little different but some paitance and few screw drivers and got it.

this is funny as to the origins of certain mod names... 10 years down the road people will still be doing this and likely forget where the name came from. The maxima community calls this the "AE Mod" as the Anniversary Edition maxima came stock with tinted headlights
