disable auto headlights

Default disable auto headlights

anyone know how to disable the automatic headlights on a 02

i removed the sensor, cut the 2 wires right before the sensor and spliced the 2 wires together

some people use u scotchlock which does the same thing

oh ya, light sensor is in the vent on the top of the dash next to the blinking red alarm light

If you don't want to do a permanent disable you can unplug it and use a piece of wire in a U shape plugged into it instead and leave the plug with the wire in it hanging under the dash. That way if you want auto headlights again just remove the wire jumper and plug the sensor back in.

I think I'm going to do this when I take my dash pad off to fix my dash sag. It is annoying sometimes to have my headlights click on when I pull in the parking deck for a minute, and with the HIDs now I don't want the constant on-off when not necessary.

What about keeping the fog lights on when the brights are on? I had my 95 set up to do this... just grounded out the relay. Then you could run brights and fogs at the same time. Can this still be done on the 4th gens... Havent tried it yet.

Then you always have the brake light on in the dash. Or, in my case, the switch doesn't work very well (gotta pull my console apart to clean it).

yea mine too. sometimes my lights come on when i turn the key on and the e brake is still up

cutting the redish-orange wire behind the light/dimmer switch also disables auto lights
