Trans Am 2 1/16" a/c gauge adapters the cheap way! Ok, so I wanted to put my gauges in the air vents in my T/A but I already had 2 1/16" gauges and I didnt want to spend a lot buying adaptors so I found the perfect solution.
I was at Home Depot and I saw some plumbing clamps that have a rubber insert that is the perfect size for both the gauge and the a/c vent hole. The clamp is made by Fernco USA and is PN 3001-22 and is $8 each.
Because of the small ring that the vent swivels on you have to take the rubber piece and grind a groove into it so it will not only hold itself but also fit without becoming distorted. Heres what it looks like by itself.
And installed in the trim ring.
Now you just wire up your gauges and snap them back into place. Heres what mine looks like.
And a pic of the car its in, it was a sunny and warm day so I did the gauges, heater hose mod and of course gave it a bath. Hope this helps a few of you guys interested in this mod.

Thanks for the compliments guys, yesterday was a great day but today got started off really bad. Some punk a$$ **** broke into my truck(again)
and tried to steal my radio but instead they ended up turning it into a million pieces.
It was a nice Panasonic flip out screen that ive had since about 03'. The first time they tried to take it they scuffed it up and then it wouldnt play cd's. And to make things worse I think it was my neighbor. Oh yeah, and they didnt even touch the headrest monitors,amps or subs. Thankfully the T/A was in the garage .

Thanks, I spent about $28 for all 3 whereas I wouldve spent $80-$90 for the billet ones. Now if I could only figure out a better place for my tach. Right now its in front of the stock tach b/c it doesnt work due to the diff. ignition system in my car.

Went to Home Depot today but they had no such number-is this a coupling to connect two pipes?Anymore of a description on it? Any other numbers?
Love your install and just got a hold of an interceptor gauge and would like to put it in the vent. Thanks

Ok, heres a pic of what to look for. Couldnt find this piece before and thats why I didnt post it. Its the outside clamp part and the rubber piece goes inside it.
