gum on paint!

gum on paint! hey guys, i just bought a truck, and the owner b4 me i guess ran over white paint or gum i think and its dried up on there. what is the best way to remove it? i tried mineral spirits and lighter fluid but no luck

ok thanks. i will try that first. because if i go at it with my finger nail i am able to take it off. and if it still dont come off i will try and buff it out with some heavy compound. thanks guys
but it got spray paint off my car when some A$$ decided to draw decals on it

Stoner's Tarminator is a great product for removing that kind of stuff.
You could also soak a rag or paper towel with WD40, tape it to the area and leave it sit for about an hour or so, and the stuff should wipe right off. That works great for sticker residue and adhesives.

i really thank everybody for posting in this thread. i bought the goo gone. i was so anxious to try it i went and started rubbing and spraying it with goo gone in the rain. it worked so easy i was amazed! after i finish up tomarow it will be time to start claybaring and waxing. thanks agian
