Now thats a slick setup, did you tap into the fuse box under the hood? Did you have to remove the A-pillar? A writeup of that would be awesome? I have never really done any wiring and have little familiarity with electronics but would love to do something like that!

Exactly where i have mine, but i ran the wire down the a-pillar, and under the dash to the 12V under the ebrake. I'm sure he had to remove the a-pillar its got a hole drilled in it. Unless he's that comfortable with a drill lol. And is that an add-on cigarette light socket under your dash, with the GPS just plugged in? Thats what it looks like to me. If that's what it is i'm sure he's tapped into a fuse, and grounded. That would be simplest.

I took the fuse panel out and soldered and heat shrinked a 14 guage wire to one of the constant 12 volt sources i think it was for the hazards. I then ran that wire to the cig light outlet and made my own ground by scratching off the paint to get a good bare metal surface to have a suficient ground source. I then ran the power cord into the cig lighter outlet and ran that wire past the fuse box and up the A pillar (yes i had to take the A pillar off but it is not a hard task at all) and then i drilled a 1/2 hole and put a 3/8 inch rubber grommet that i bought at a local hardware store and ziptied all the slack so its all nice and clean, and then left enough slack so the wire could reach my GPS. It sits in the corner and you cant see any wires at all from the drivers seat. thanks everybody for the comments, ill get better pictures and see if i can do a write up for you guys tomorow.

ya its an add a outlet type thing that i bought at kragens it was like 8 bucks or so but it was a really nice one compared to some of the cheap ones i saw. Installation took about2 hours or so but i spread it out over a few days so i could take my time. If i had to do it again it would take me less than that.

Plenty. Go hunt down some of the GPS voice sites. TomTom and Garmin are the two that support additional voices.

Arnold, Yoda, Vader, Mezzican, Arab Cabbie, etc.

in the fust box there is a single blade slot marked "ACC" or "IGN" I forget which, but its obvious its not a fuse slot. That connection has ignition switched power. get a blade crimp and some wire. jack into that connection and hook up a new 12v power socket. You can get the sockets at radio shack. Be sure to put a inline fuse in that wire preferably as near to the fusebox as possible. My radar detector runs on this connection. works nice to ensure the detector is never left on.

Nice Redls1bird., wish I could find one of those DD trims for the Camaros. I lack the skill to make a good looking one, 6literdesigns is supposedly working on them.
