Getting ready to apply VHT to my tail lights
Getting ready to apply VHT to my tail lights So I'm getting ready to VHT niteshade my tail lights this weekend and wanted to make sure that I've got the process and the steps down pat before I begin.
1. Lightly wet sand tail lights and wash with soap
2. Apply VHT spray about 8-10 away from lights (as many coats as it takes to get to the desired darkness, I'm thinking 1-3 coats)
3. Let stand for an hour and then lightly sand VHT
4. Apply clear coat (as many coats as it takes to get the desired gloss)
5. Finally sand clear coat and then polish out.
Please advise if anything is missing.

For the T/A's I just used the AVS covers. I have a Camaro now and just got done VHTing them. Looks 1000000X better.

Thanks I just got done installing the lights back onto the car and I must say I am very pleased. My intentions were to darken up the lights just enough, so you can still see the honeycombs when braking at night. And I don't think I could have gotten any closer to what I wanted. I'll try to get some pics up for you guys either tomorrow or the next day.

i went anothe route
paid 35 bucks locally for a body shop to tint mine. and leave reverse light clear.

Here are the pics as requested. Like I said earlier I didn't straight black them out. I just tinted them a little darker than normal. For all of you thinking about VHTing your tails, its a pretty easy process. Oh yeah I would post some before pics but I couldn't find any good ones.
